Adult Art Classes

The Louisa Arts Center features a diverse selection of art classes for adults within our community, ranging from beginning to advanced levels. Participants receive guided instruction by professional and experienced artists in an encouraging environment that fosters creativity and inspires artistic expression. To learn more about our upcoming class schedule view our calendar here.

Youth Art Classes

We also offer art classes for children, taught by experienced art students at Louisa County High School. Arts and craft classes are held in our Pamela Higgins-Stone Classroom and are always popular with the children in our community. Students gather in our bright and beautifully lit art room to receive step-by-step instruction on unique projects. Whether they are making gifts for their parents, painting Easter eggs or decorating gingerbread cookies for the holidays, students are given the freedom to use their imagination to create one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork.

Louisa Theater Works

Join us for Theatre Tuesdays in our after-school program, Louisa Theatre Works! Throughout the school year, students learn a new performance or theatrical skill each week, such as acting, improvisation, movement, technical theatre, and much more! Each term ends with a performance in which students demonstrate the skills they have learned while in session.

Summer Camps

Participants have an opportunity to get involved in several arts related camps each summer. Each camp specializes in a different art and performing arts technique, such as musical theatre, acting, singing, movement, technical theatre, sketch comedy, or learning a new instrument!

Mobile Arts Outreach Program

Let the Louisa Arts Center come directly to YOU! Throughout the year the Louisa Arts Center brings arts and crafts to our children in Central Virginia. In partnership with the Louisa County School Nutrition Program, the Arts Center brings instructors to underserved areas throughout our community to teach 90-minute workshops on arts and craft skills.

Live Theatre

Participants have an opportunity to get involved in several arts related camps each summer. Each camp specializes in a different art and performing arts technique, such as musical theatre, acting, singing, movement, technical theatre, sketch comedy, or learning a new instrument!

The Art Lab

Creativity begins here! This program gets students the ability to learn about and experience art using their five senses
