Under his leadership the Center was named “Most Improved Venue” by the Lake Anna Partnership and “Best Entertainment” via the Central Virginian – People’s Choice Award.

Prior to arriving at the Center, Bollinger served as Executive Artistic Director of the South Orange Performing Arts Center in greater New York City, the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts in Virginia, and as Producing Artistic Director of Missouri’s – Lyceum Theatre.

Louisa Arts Center President, LaVahn Hoh, stated, “Michael’s leadership showed us what could and can be done with an Arts Center. Michael suggested to the board many “new” ideas that brought in audiences not only from Louisa County but Northern Virgina and beyond. His new and out-of-box thinking increased our attendance in the Performing Arts Series over 400%. Michael will be missed as our Executive Artistic Director and I wish him success in his new position. While the Center researches Mr. Bollinger’s replacement, an interim director will be selected to ensure the maintaining of a quality venue and performing Arts season.”
