Join local artist, Jennifer Christian, as she teaches how to blend watercolors to paint a vibrant sea turtle, or use the techniques taught in this class to create your own sea creatures! The artist will bring other original paintings to class as examples, including a jellyfish, a seahorse, an octopus, sharks, and fish.
A note from the instructor…
“The items on the supply list are suggestions. Feel free to buy different sizes or brands of anything listed. You will need watercolor brushes, a set of watercolor paints (red, yellow, and blue, at least – cold and warm hues of each are included in the set, but you may build your own set if desired), watercolor paper (Arches cold-press 140 lb. weight is what I use, but you can swap this for a different brand, style, or size), and a pallette for your paints. You will also need a jar or can for water, pencil, eraser, and paper towels during class.”
About your instructor…
Jennifer Christian is a local Lake Anna area artist. She moved here 2 years ago from the Detroit area and lives with her husband and their two school-aged boys. She has experience painting murals, as well as watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings. She homeschools her kids and teaches ESL online. During the 2021-2021 school year she and her kids have been doing a weekly study of famous artists and artistic styles. They were featured on the front page of the Central Virginian because of this project. She enjoys learning and teaching art and is excited to start teaching classes at the Louisa Arts Center.
