Be part of the growing plein air movement! Come paint outdoors as we explore the spring colors on the beautiful grounds of the Louisa Arts Center. We will discuss color temperatures, value sketches, mixing paint, and describing the atmosphere. I will also introduce you to non-traditional materials for some fun mark-making. Choose a scene or paint studies of natural objects. Please note, if it rains, we will move indoors and work from collected natural objects or bring some from home such as shells or leaves.
You will need to purchase your own supplies for this course (or bring friends and share the paint and paper). Choosing materials can be overwhelming so to make it easy for you, a supply list is ready for you at dickblick.com Note that some items are required and some are recommended. However, feel free to find your own equivalents if you prefer, or use pastels if you have them! By owning your materials, you can return for more paint outs in the future. (Be sure to scroll to the bottom for additional information.)
